Some Dietary Tips for Before & After Covid Vaccine ?

All the vaccines are effective without any special nutritional support but there are some eating strategies that support your body's needs, both before and after the vaccination.

So, here are some dietary tips for before & after covid vaccine you can follow-

  1. Avoid Alcohol Before and After Vaccination

Drinking alcohol stress the immune system and slow down the process of making antibodies in body. Which reduce the effect of covid vaccine. So Its advisable to completely avoid the alcohol before and after your vaccination.

  2. Eat Fiber

Eating too little fiber and too much saturated fats and  sugar can lead to less restorative, more disturbed sleep. Sleep indirectly affects your immunity, if you sleep less then your immune system will affected. So include fruits, veggies, whole grains, pulses, nuts & seeds for good fiber and good sleep.

  3. Stay Hydrated

Being well hydrated is most important ways to maximize how you feel before and after vaccination. So make sure you are well hydrate before your appointment. Experts advised to drink 3 liters or 8-10 glasses water in a day.

  4. Swap Processed Foods with Natural Foods

Healthy eating habits are important for covid-19 prevention. Eat more fresh fruits and veggies which provides antioxidants, vitamins and other nutrients to your body that support your immune system. So swap all junk food or processed food with healthy foods. Add seasonal fruits and vegetables in your diet.

   5. Eat a Balanced Meal Before Your Appointment

Fainting is not listed as a common Covid-19 vaccine side effect but fainting during or after a vaccination is typically triggered by anxiety, pain or low blood sugar. So eating a meal that helps regulate your sugar levels before vaccination.

6. Eat Light Foods After Vaccination

Some people develop nausea or mild fever after the vaccine. So in that case avoid heavy foods like fried food, non veg and junk food. Take some bland and easy to digest foods like Daliya, oats porridge, khichdi with curd etc.

Vaccine side effects should go away in few days. But healthy habits, like drinking water and eating nutrient rich meals, can bring lasting wellness benefits.

    1. Give her nutritional supplements (Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Zinc) to boost immunity system, Avoid going out unnecessarily, wear 2 masks(1 surgical and 1 cloth) and frequently wash hands with sanitizer. Get her vaccinated as soon as you get the slot.
